SHORT DESCRIPTION

Licuala grandis or Fan Palm is a slow-growing palm that grow up to 6-8ft tall. It has very distinctive pleated and undivided leaves with notched tips. The shiny dark green foliage is rounded that spread to about 50cm or more. Licuala grandis is a perfect indoor plant as a natural humidifier by removing carbon monoxide and replacing the air with fresh oxygen.

The green fruits turn red when ripe. rounded and marble-like. Bears single seed inside. Being an under-story rainforest palm, they prefer to grow in lightly shaded or full shade area. Avoid expose them to direct sunlight and should be protected from strong winds and heaving rains. Direct sunlight will turn the leaves brown.
